Construction industry
Building materials are often heavy, large and awkward to lift and position by hand. Our solutions make it easier to handle sacks, panels, paving stones, bricks, concrete products and other products, and allow safer, more ergonomic and more efficient work in the production of building materials.
The problem
The production of building materials involves a great deal of physically demanding handling. Sacks of raw materials and finished products have to be lifted and moved, while panels, glass, concrete elements and other large-format products are carried between moulds, pallets, conveyors, machines and workstations.
Such loads are often so heavy or large that they are hard to grip and control safely. With panels and concrete elements, precise positioning, turning and setting down without damaging the product are further challenges.
Repetitive manual lifting throughout the shift increases the physical strain on operators and often takes several workers for a single lift.
To keep the production process efficient, handling equipment has to be adapted to the different dimensions, surfaces, weights and geometry of building products.
How we solve it
Handling sacks and packaged materials
Vacuum lifters let sacks of cement, mortar, adhesive, granulate and other packaged building materials be lifted and moved. The equipment takes the weight of the load while the operator controls its movement between the pallet, the conveyor and other workstations.
Lifting and positioning panels and concrete elements
Panels, concrete elements and other heavier products can be picked up with a suitable vacuum or other custom gripper and lifted, moved and positioned precisely and safely.
Depending on the product, the equipment can be used to handle concrete blocks, paving stones, precast elements and other products from the concrete industry, for example when taking them out of the production process, moving them onto a pallet, stacking them or processing them further.
Panels can also be turned from horizontal to vertical or vice versa before being placed on a machine, pallet or transport.
Supplying production machines
Handling equipment can be used to feed material to saws, CNC machines, presses, processing lines, moulds and other production machines. This reduces manual lifting at the entry to and exit from the process and makes it easier to position products precisely before processing or further handling.
Palletising and work at an ergonomic height
Vacuum lifters, lift tables and platforms make it easier to stack finished products onto pallets and take them off. This includes sacks, boxes, panels, concrete elements and other building products. The working height can be adapted to the operator to reduce repetitive bending and lifting loads from the floor.
From the delivery of raw materials and supply of production lines to handling building materials and finished components and palletising – we tailor our solutions to the dimensions, weight and characteristics of the load and the requirements of the production process.
