Chemical industry

Chemical production needs safe and controlled handling of sacks, powdered raw materials, drums, canisters and IBC containers. Our solutions reduce manual work and make the transport, lifting, emptying and dosing of materials through the production process more ergonomic.

The problem

In the chemical industry, raw materials and finished products come in many forms and packages – from powdered and granular materials in sacks to liquids and other media in canisters, drums and IBC containers.

Operators often have to lift, move, open and empty them, or bring them to mixers, reactors and other process equipment. With heavier containers and repetitive handling the physical strain builds up quickly, while uncontrolled tilting or emptying further increases the risk of spills and damaged packaging.

With powdered raw materials, spillage, dust and the need to convey material between different process points are further challenges. Depending on the properties of the material, the process may also require special equipment versions for use in classified areas.

A solution in chemical production must therefore take into account, alongside ergonomics, the properties of the material, how it is packaged, how it is emptied and the conditions in which the equipment is used.

How we solve it

Handling sacks and packaged raw materials

Vacuum and other lifters let sacks, boxes, buckets and canisters be lifted and moved with far less physical strain on the operator. They can be used when moving loads between pallets, bringing material to production equipment and emptying sacks and containers into the next stage of the process.

Vacuum conveying of powdered and granular raw materials

Powders and granulates can be conveyed through a closed vacuum system from a sack emptying station or container directly to a mixer, reactor, sieve, dosing unit or other process equipment. This reduces manual pouring, spillage and the spread of dust in the production area. The system is adapted to the characteristics of the material, the capacity, the conveying distance and the requirements of the specific process.

Lifting, transporting and emptying drums and containers

Specialised equipment grips, lifts, transports and tilts drums and other process containers safely. A drum can be lifted from the floor or a pallet, brought to the desired working position and tilted or emptied into a container or process equipment in a controlled way, without holding its full weight by hand.

Tilting IBC containers and homogenising contents

IBC containers can be tilted in a controlled way to direct the remaining contents towards the outlet valve and empty them more completely. For products that settle or separate during storage, drum mixing and homogenising systems can also be used, without needlessly decanting the product into extra containers.

From the delivery and dosing of raw materials to handling sacks, drums and containers and packing finished products – we tailor our solutions to the characteristics of the material, safety requirements and the specifics of chemical production processes.
