Tilting IBC containers for emptying

IBC containers often cannot be fully emptied by gravity alone, especially with thicker and more viscous media. Our solutions tilt the container in a controlled way and empty the remaining contents more effectively.

The problem

IBC containers are widely used to store and transport liquids, chemicals, food ingredients and other process media.

When emptied conventionally through the bottom outlet, some of the contents can remain in the container, especially with thicker, more viscous or slower-flowing products.

Operators then try to empty the container further by lifting one side, improvising a prop or using other unsuitable methods. This can be unstable, physically demanding and makes the emptying harder to control.

Product left in the container also means lost material, longer emptying times and extra steps before the IBC is cleaned or replaced.

How we solve it

We use equipment that tilts the entire IBC container steadily and in a controlled way during emptying.

The container is placed on a suitable platform or cradle and then tilted gradually, so that the contents are directed towards the outlet valve.

The tilt angle can be adapted to the process and the characteristics of the product, helping the remaining contents flow out without lifting the container by hand or improvising a prop.

The solution is adapted to the dimensions and weight of the IBC, the required tilt angle, the emptying method and the space available in the production process.

The container tilts in a controlled way, and the contents flow naturally towards the outlet.

What our solution gives you

More complete emptying

Tilting directs the remaining contents towards the outlet valve and reduces the amount of product left in the IBC.

Less product loss

More effective emptying means less residual material and better use of the container's contents.

A safer way of working

The need to improvise lifting, propping or tilting a heavy IBC container is eliminated.

A more controlled process

The operator can adjust the container's tilt gradually and so control the final stage of emptying better.
