Wood industry
In sawmills, wood processing plants and furniture production, boards, panels and other wooden elements are often large, heavy and awkward to handle by hand. Our solutions take the weight of the load and make lifting, moving and positioning safer, more ergonomic and more efficient.
The problem
In sawmills, the wood industry and furniture production, material is lifted, moved, turned and set down several times during production. Boards and timber are taken off pallets or conveyors, panels are brought to cutting and processing machines, and finished elements are moved on to assembly, packing or storage.
Such loads are often large in relation to their weight, which makes them awkward to grip safely by hand. Long pieces need good control while moving, and large panels can be hard to lift, turn and place precisely on a machine.
With repetitive handling throughout the shift, the physical strain builds up quickly. A further challenge is the need to avoid damaging the wood surface during gripping, lifting and setting down.
Manual handling therefore often takes several operators, slows the work process and makes it harder to keep a steady production pace.
How we solve it
Lifting and stacking boards and timber
Vacuum lifters let boards, battens and other wooden elements be lifted from a stack, pallet or conveyor and moved to the next workstation in a controlled way. The equipment takes the weight of the load while the operator guides its movement and sets it down precisely. The solution is adapted to the dimensions, weight and surface of the wooden element.
Handling large-format panels
Chipboard, MDF, OSB, plywood, solid wood panels and other sheet materials can be lifted with a vacuum gripper and moved between storage, the pallet, the processing machine and the workstation. Where needed, the panel can also be turned from horizontal to vertical or vice versa.
Supplying machines and production lines
Handling equipment can be used to feed material to saws, CNC machines, sanders, presses and other woodworking machines. This reduces manual lifting at the machine infeed and outfeed and makes it easier to position workpieces precisely before processing.
Pallets and ergonomic working height
Lift tables and platforms can keep pallets, stacks and other loads at a more suitable working height. As material is taken off or set down, the height adapts to the operator, reducing the need for repetitive bending and working in unfavourable positions.
From the delivery and processing of timber to handling panels and finished components and dispatching products – we tailor our solutions to the dimensions, weight and characteristics of the load and the specifics of the production process.
