Order picking
Order picking in a warehouse often involves a large number of repetitive lifts of boxes and other loads from different rack heights. Our mobile solutions follow the operator through the warehouse, take the weight of the load and make order picking safer, more ergonomic and more efficient.
The problem
Order picking is one of the more labour-intensive processes in a warehouse. During a shift the operator walks between the racks, takes products from different locations and stacks them on a pallet, trolley or other transport device.
Loads are often lifted from the floor or from the lower or upper rack levels, and the weight, dimensions and shape of the packaging can differ from item to item.
Repetitive bending, lifting and carrying throughout the shift increase the physical strain on the operator and can slow the pace of work, especially with heavier boxes or a large number of orders.
Conventional stationary lifters are often impractical here, because the workplace keeps changing and the operator has to move through much of the warehouse.
How we solve it
We use mobile lifting solutions that move through the warehouse together with the operator and let the load be picked up right at the picking location.
The operator reaches the desired rack position, picks up the box or other load with a suitable gripper and lifts and moves it with minimal physical strain. The load is then set down in a controlled way on a pallet, trolley or other transport position.
The mobile design means the same unit can be used at a large number of warehouse locations, without a fixed pillar or overhead system. The equipment can be used alongside racks, in aisles and at different picking positions.
The solution is adapted to the weight and dimensions of the products, the type of packaging, the height of the storage positions and how the picking process is organised.
The aid goes with the operator – the load is lifted where it is, without carrying it by hand to the next position.
What our solution gives you
Less physical strain
The equipment takes the weight of the load and reduces the need for repetitive manual lifting, bending and carrying.
Mobility through the warehouse
A single unit can follow the operator between different storage positions and be used wherever lifting assistance is needed at that moment.
Easier work at different heights
Loads are taken more easily from lower and upper rack levels and set down on a pallet or trolley.
A more even picking pace
Less operator fatigue makes it easier to keep a steadier picking rhythm throughout the shift.
A more flexible warehouse solution
No fixed system over the whole warehouse is needed, so the aid can be introduced into existing warehouse processes with minimal infrastructure work.
