General information on vacuum lifters in wood industry
TAWI vacuum lifters optimize workplaces and facilitate work on production lines, especially in wood industry, including sawmills, sheet producers and furniture manufacturers.
Powered by three-phase current, vacuum pump creates a vacuum in the system to lift and lower loads without the need for compressed air. These vacuum lifters can handle even the most demanding situations with a variety of standard and special gripping tools available.
Capable of handling loads up to 270 kg, these systems are particularly effective in handling planks, boards, sheets, panels, packages and parquets, making them ideal for use in the wood industry. Vacuum manipulators offer several advantages over other types of manipulators, including quick load gripping, safety, ease of use and extremely low operating and maintenance costs.
Vacuum technology ensures safe load manipulation without damaging wooden products or compromising worker safety. The primary components of a vacuum manipulator include a three-phase vacuum pump, a filter, a flexible air hose, a flexible lifting tube with a control handle, and a receiving tool that is sized according to the load.
To ensure full functionality, vacuum manipulators come with compatible rail systems or arm-consoles that allow the lifter to move smoothly. Guides with wheels are designed to glide effortlessly along the rail or arm profiles, enabling precise and free movement of wooden goods to the desired location. This system is particularly beneficial in the wood industry, where efficient and safe handling of large, heavy panels and sheets is crucial.

Vacuum lifters for planks in sawmills
TAWI vacuum manipulators enable the optimization of the workplace and facilitate the work of workers in sawmills.
Vacuum lifters for planks enable safe and efficient stacking of planks from conveyors to pallets. Only vacuum is used to pick up and lift the load, which is a big advantage of vacuum technology compared to others. The maximum weight of cargo that can be handled is 270 kg. The vacuum pump, which is powered by three-phase current and does not require compressed air, creates a vacuum in the system by which the load is received, as well as raised/lowered.
The main parts of the vacuum manipulator are a three-phase vacuum pump, a filter, a flexible air hose, a flexible lifting tube with a control handle and a gripping tool, which is sized depending on the load being manipulated.
For the full functionality of the vacuum manipulators, compatible rail systems or arm-consoles are supplied along which the lifter moves. Guides with wheels are made in such a way that they slide smoothly along the profiles of rails or arms, enabling the free movement of goods exactly to the desired place.
Vacuum lifters for sheets and panels
TAWI vacuum manipulators enable the optimization of the workplace and facilitate the work of workers on production lines in the production of panels, panel materials and furniture.
Vacuum lifters for panels and sheet materials enable safe and efficient manipulation of load in the production facility. Only vacuum is used for gripping and lifting the load, which is a great advantage of vacuum technology compared to others. The vacuum pump, which is powered by three-phase current and does not require compressed air, creates a vacuum in the system by which the load is received, as well as raised/lowered.
Standard versions are used for sheet materials without the possibility of tilting and turning enable the manipulation of panels weighing up to 270 kg. In cases where a panel must be rotated around its axis, there are TAWI Panel Lifter variants with pneumatic panel rotation up to 80°, weighing up to 180 kg, which additionally requires 6 bar air.
For completely airtight loads that require rotation by 180°, we offer special vacuum grippers with pneumatic rotation of loads up to 150 kg by 180°, which come in combination with electric chain hoists.
Handling the manipulators is very simple and safe, and one person can manipulate the load.
For the full functionality of the vacuum manipulators, compatible rail systems or arm-consoles are supplied along which the lifter moves. Guides with wheels are made in such a way that they slide smoothly along the profiles of rails or arms, enabling the free movement of goods exactly to the desired place.
TAWI Lyftman crane systems and jib arm systems for vacuum lifters
Suspended crane system is made according to the specifics of the hall and the needs of customers. Rails can be steel or aluminum, depending on the weight of the load and the method of suspension. We offer different types of standard and special suspensions for ceilings and ceiling beams in the hall. If the ceiling beams in the hall are very high, it is possible to make steel downlinks to lower the rails to the height necessary to meet the conditions for the minimum and maximum lifting height. For production that requires highly hygienic conditions, stainless steel (INOX) rail designs are available.
Brackets-arms for the vacuum manipulator can be supplied independently or in combination with a steel column. The independent arms are fixed to the wall, while in combination with the steel column they are fixed to the column, which is fixed to the floor using four anchor bolts. Arms available in plain and stainless steel and aluminum. The maximum length of the aluminum console is 6 meters, while the steel console is 7 meters. In addition to console-arms with a standard profile, arms with a low installation height for low ceilings or with a joint are available.
