Pallet exchange without re-handling
Goods often have to be moved from a transport, wooden or damaged pallet onto a clean, plastic or internal pallet. Our solutions replace the pallet under the entire load without restacking it by hand, piece by piece.
The problem
In production, warehousing and distribution there is often a need to replace the pallet the goods arrived on. A transport or wooden pallet may need to be swapped for a hygienic, plastic, internal or differently sized pallet.
The traditional way means taking each piece off one pallet by hand and stacking it again on the other. With larger quantities of goods this takes a lot of time and repetitive physical work.
The problem is even greater with heavier sacks, boxes, buckets, canisters or drums, and in processes where pallets are changed several times a shift.
Besides the physical strain on the operator, manual restacking increases the number of times the goods are handled and the chance of damaging the packaging or the product itself.
How we solve it
We use specialised equipment that replaces the pallet under the entire unit load, without restacking each piece by hand.
Depending on the type of goods, the stability of the stacked pallet and the requirements of the process, the load can be gripped in a controlled way and turned together with the pallet, or the entire stacked load can be transferred from one pallet to another by a suitable mechanical method.
In this way pallets can be changed for different kinds of load, including boxes, sacks, buckets, canisters, drums and other products stacked on a pallet.
The solution is chosen according to the dimensions and weight of the pallet, the type and stability of the load, the stacking pattern and the reason the pallet is being changed — for example hygiene, an internal standard, a damaged pallet or the requirements of the next stage of the process.
With our solution, pallets are changed with minimal handling of the product itself.
What our solution gives you
No manual restacking
The whole load stays stacked, with no need to take boxes, sacks, buckets or other products off one by one and stack them again.
Faster pallet changes
A single operation replaces a large number of individual manual handling steps and significantly shortens the time needed to change a pallet.
Less physical strain
The need for repetitive lifting, carrying and stacking throughout the shift is reduced.
Lower risk of damaging goods
Fewer individual handling steps mean fewer chances for the packaging and product to be dropped, deformed or damaged.
